MEDIUM Prescriptive Platform:
Health equity in the internet age

An integrated contraception prescription service that explores the potential of data collection and ledger technologies to bridge the gender data gap within the public healthcare landscape.
Contraception is historically controversial pharmaceutical, due to its slew of unpredictable physical and mental side effects and a lack of research and innovation. The growing health-tech sector may offer a solution.
MEDIUM is a speculative contraception prescription service aimed to reduce patient anxiety, clarify diagnostics, and drive insight. It offers a rentable ecosystem of home testing devices that enable personalised contraceptive prescriptions, using biodata profiling to predict and bypass the commonly experienced slew of side effects and promoting a feeling of security and self knowledge. A home blood monitor, hormone reader, and discreet wearable monitor work in tandem to define a holistic overview of your unique body chemistry, and tracking adverse side effects from new hormonal contraceptives. The set of devices are formatted for easy use, and blend into your home settings, creating an approachable and calming user interaction.
The system presents a closed- loop,community-generated data sharing service to improve the healthcare landscape for all stakeholders, reimagining how the future of digitised healthcare might offer greater privacy and control, yet generate vast amounts of insight in chronically under-researched sectors.
This project speculates on the future of our health institutions, as they evolve into a dynamic network of data driven systems, and aims to present an intuitive, approachable service that uplifts both patient and practitioner.
